The Second Ukrainian International Education Forum (26-27.03.2019, Kyiv)
On 26-27 March 2019 The Second Ukrainian International Education Forum held in Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv.
About 300 participants took part at the event (heads of international cooperation departments of Ukrainian higher educational institutions; business entities providing intermediary recruitment services; leading experts in the field of internationalization of higher education; heads of international and foreign academic institutions working in Ukraine; representatives of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, the State Migration Service of Ukraine, the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, the Security Service of Ukraine, the National Police and the diplomatic corps).
Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine Liliia HRYNEVYCH attended the event. During the first day of Forum the issues of Internationalization of Higher Education in Ukraine; Organization of admission and education of foreign students in Ukraine; Problems and prospects of medical education in Ukraine; Accreditation of educational programs; Licensing requirements for providing education to foreign students in Ukraine; Organizational conditions of language preparatory courses for foreign citizens in Ukraine; Development of cooperation in the field of international education were discussed.
HERE team members – Yuriy RASHKEVYCH, Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine and Olena KOZIEVSKA, Deputy Head of the Secretariat of the Committee on Education and Science of Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine joined the event with the presentations on licensing requirements for education of foreign students in Ukraine and legal support of higher education. Zhanna TALANOVA, NEO-Ukraine Analytical Manager also attended the forum.
Within the Plenary Session on Quality Assurance in Higher Education the results of Erasmus+ QUAERE project were highlighted. Volodymyr BUHROV, Vice-rector of Education and Research of the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv and Andrii GOZHYK, Director of the scientific-methodical center of educational process organization of the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv had a presentation “Adaptation of accreditation of educational programs in countries of the European union to the legal field of Ukraine and practices of Ukrainian universities”.
The second day of the Forum was devoted to presentations of universities and other organizations. Ivanna ATAMANCHUK, NEO-Ukraine Monitoring Manager joined the event with the presentation “Academic Mobility: Implementation Practice within the EU Erasmus+ Programme”. The NEO-Ukraine manager informed the event participants on the Erasmus+ Programme and focused their attention on the rules, tips and tricks in Erasmus+ ICM projects preparation and implementation. The NEO-Ukraine presentation stressed on the importance of Ukrainian HEIs’ “homework” related to study programs modernization done and institutional capacity developed in advance for effective implementation of Erasmus + ICM projects. The university representatives also learned about practical situations and questions emerging during implementation of projects on credit mobility as well as possible ways to solve them by Ukrainian universities.
